Marilyn was born on a farm in Kentucky. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Western Kentucky University in Elementary Education. She was the local school marm in my small town when she met her husband, who was stationed at Fort Knox during the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty they moved to Pennsylvania for his job. They moved a total of 14 times for his job and Marilyn found teaching jobs in most of the locations. She started teaching 4th grade but moved up to middle school, which was her favorite. Their last move was to the Austin area and they decided to stay.
Marilyn has three children and four grandchildren. She has always loved writing and found it therapeutic. Many times stories just come to her and she writes them down. She has always loved children’s literature and enjoyed writing her own.
